scott brown bio

Scott Brown was born in 1964 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and began playing guitar - taught by his father, Ross - at the age of four. After his family moved to Nanaimo BC, Scott soon found himself handling lead singer duties for a number of popular Vancouver Island bands.

Before joining Trooper, Scott played bass, sang and was a song writer for the Paul Laine Band. Managed by Bruce Allen (Bryan Adams, Loverboy, Michael Buble), the band toured with Joe Satriani, Richard Marx and Bryan Adams and recorded the album "Stick it In Your Ear" with mega-producer Bruce Fairbairn (Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Poison, the Scorpions, AC/DC, etc.) His success with Paul Laine led to a move to New York City to play with hard rock glam metal recording artists "Danger Danger". Those rock and roll days in the Big Apple directly preceded his introduction to Trooper by fellow Paul Laine Band alumni and Nanaimo resident, Gogo.

In addition to touring with Trooper, Scott performs in the acoustic duo "Manglewood" and is writing and preparing material for an upcoming album. He also works and teaches at Arbutus Music in his off time.

Scott is an avid golfer, snowboarder, and doting father to his daughter Cassidy. When he's not "rocking heavily" with his favorite band, Trooper, he lives in Nanaimo, BC.
